Commission rates are always negotiable and vary by market — an agent can tell you what's typical where you're buying or selling.

How commission actually works

The seller typically pays the full commission out of the sale proceeds at closing, and it's split between their own listing agent and the agent who represented the buyer. The percentages above are typical, not fixed — commission has always been negotiable, and since 2024's NAR settlement, buyer representation agreements make that split even more explicit up front.

HomePaird doesn't add a fee on top of this. When an agent you're matched with here closes a deal, a portion of their own commission share — 25–35% depending on their plan — goes to HomePaird as a referral fee for the introduction, the same way traditional referral networks and brokerages have always worked. You never pay more because you found your agent through us.
